On the morning of Jess and Scott’s Engagement Party I received a call from Jess to chat about the night. After talking about the run of events and saying how excited I was, Jess casually added in that they were actually getting Married! They had kept it completely secret from all of their family and friends, including me! I first met Jess as part of my Mums group, our Daughters share the same name and we have been friends ever since. Their plan was originally to elope in Hawaii with their gorgeous Daughter, Amelia by their side, but they had began thinking how nice it would be to be surrounded by their family and friends.
Held at the Highway Hotel, where they had first met, guests started arriving for what they thought was Jess and Scott’s Engagement/Eloping Party. The room was setup beautifully with the most stunning native arrangements (+ sneaky bouquet) & fairy lights. Jess and Scott were calm and were enjoying seeing their closest family and friends. Once Christine Trenwith, their celebrant, had arrived she introduced herself as the MC of the night, just there to help the night go smoothly. Jess and Scott stood up with her as she asked the crowd if they supported Jess and Scott eloping in Hawaii. Their guests all yelled ‘Yes’ and raised their hands. She then asked the question again but changed it to “Do you support Jess and Scott getting Married tonight?!” There was a mixture of awe, disbelief, excitement and ‘I knew it!’ in the room as they all called out ‘Yes!’ Christine asked Jess’ best friend (and Bridesmaid) Katie & Scott’s friend (and Best Man) Josh to join them on the stage as they began the Ceremony.
It was heartfelt, funny and full of laugh out loud moments. Jess and Scott were finally Married and were absolutely over the moon! It was incredible to witness and an honour to capture such a special time in their lives. What was to follow was a night of good food, delicious cake made with love by their friend Victoria and a lot of dancing. Jess & Scott enjoyed their Honeymoon in beautiful Hawaii with Amelia and I wish them nothing but love and happiness as they begin Married life xo
